Bird Flu Frenzy

The avian flu or the pandemic flu is
everywhere you look. The experts assess possible damage in millions
of deaths and billions in lost revenue. The President makes a
speech saying essentially that we're getting ready for this pandemic
flu.
Everyone's in a state of worry and
panic...how many health workers will come to work when it strikes?
How many people will get vaccine? Who will it go to?
Sounds unreal, but this is what I see all over the net. The
scariest thing is....there isn't even a pandemic flu outbreak. Not
yet. I understand being prepared, but government officials or the
media are going over board. It's as if there isn't a real crisis so
they have to create one. Why?
This whole administration has been one drama after another. It
reminds me of a teenage girl, (no offense ladies...I was one once)
and her tragic love life. One day they're in love, the next they
break up, and the next it's Jim. Give me some relief, I already
have four daughters to deal with, I don't need more drama.
I wish the news would report....the news. Stuff that is actually
happening, like every little detail about the guy Bush just
nominated to the Supreme Court, or how our civil right are compared
to other developed countries. Ya know basics. Maybe we could
prominently display the number of lost jobs since Bush took office
or the number of illegal crossings or dollars in debt or...Well, you
get the idea.
So media types and government hypesters...LAY OFF! We worry enough
about these things. YOU should be worried...not us. I mean after
all if things screw up and people do die, it'll be on your watch.
Then again, that's already happened several thousand times over,
hasn't it?
Can someone please tell me why WE THE PEOPLE haven't had a special
election? |
